Darian Taylor
singer / songwriter
Darian Taylor started off her professional music career in November, 2018 by releasing her first single “Foolish” and shortly released her first album “The Perfectionist” after! She attended local open mic's at DSM Brew while only having 2 years of self-taught piano "lessons". In no time, her face was the cover of "Open Mic Thursday Nights" and she was making a name for herself around the area. With a love for her city and her craft, she began playing at local hot spots such as Café Baratta’s and The Continental. Within her first year of performing, she had the amazing opportunity to sing the National Anthem at an Iowa Cubs Game and was asked to return and perform during the playoffs later that season.
During the summer of 2019, she performed at the World Food & Music Festival and caught the attention of the President of the Iowa Veterans Perspective Organization. They collaborated and recreated a song for a Veteran’s Day documentary aired on KCWI and ABC Local 5. What a kickstart!
While 2020 may have been one hectic year, Darian didn’t stop moving forward. She started off the year by releasing a single called "In the Fire" which has been and continues to be spun on Iowa Public Radio and released her second album shortly following. Virtual performances became the norm and she made appearances on The CW’s “Iowa Live” with songs from her second album "Just Begun".
AS the pandemonium started to die down in 2021, places began opening up their doors again and normality slowly settled back in. Venues and restaurants started booking live music again and Darian bounced back into business! Her first live performance since March 13 2020 was being a Guest of the Day on Channel 13's "Hello Iowa!" segment. She also made an appearance at a local treasure Gas Lamp alongside many talented artists from the Des Moines Metro area.
A major first was her performance at Wooly’s opening the show for Bonne Finken. This was her first time hitting the renowned stage. Since her first headline, she has performed at the Levitt Amp Earlham Music Series, made multiple appearances at the 2021 Des Moines Arts Festival and was chosen to perform for the first time ever at the 2021 Iowa State Fair!
Although Darian Taylor will always have a special place in her heart for Iowa, she moved to Southwest Florida in 2021 and continues to write and produce new music. Her latest single "Put It on Me" was the first of 5 songs that she had professionally mixed and mastered in Clearwater, FL. Shortly after dropping her first professional single, she came out with "Pink Cabaret", an E. P. written and sung by her. She has landed gigs in Tampa, Cape Coral and Punta Gorda while also shooting professional music videos with Thomas Gabriellini at Ribshot Visuals and Alex Di Marco at Hustlecake in Lakeland and Miami...
